Hold off on putting my face on a milk carton

Posted by: Craig Walls on 06/01/2009

It's been a busy past several weeks and I wanted to chime in here to let everyone know that I'm still breathing. But, as you've already figured out, my series of blog entries on OSGi have yet to pick back up. So, I wanted to take a quick moment to let you know what's holding them back.

First, I'm happy to report that Modular Java went to the printers last Tuesday (5/26) and we're expecting to have printed and bound copies in-hand mid-June. They should start appearing in your favorite bookstore within a week or two after that.

Now, because I'm a glutton for punishment, I've already started another writing project. I'm not at liberty to say exactly what I'm writing just yet. But suffice it to say that third time's a charm.

I've also got two speaking engagements coming up in the next few weeks. This Saturday (June 6), I'll be presenting two talks at the Dallas stop of the No-Fluff/Just-Stuff symposium series. The topics: "Modular Java" and "Beyond JUnit". Then, on Friday, June 19th, I'll be presenting "What's new in Spring 3" at the Dallas Tech Fest in Frisco, TX.

And, finally, I've also put together another DZone RefCard. This new one covers Spring-DM and should be available for free download on June 15th.

So, as you can see, I've been quite overbooked for the past several weeks. Unfortunately, my series of blog entries didn't win out in the priorities game. But, the dust is clearing and I hope to get the next entry posted soon, although at this point I'm hesitant to post a specific date.

For those of you who aren't already following me on Twitter, you really should start following me. You'd already know much of what's been going on, as I tweet more frequently than I blog. To follow my general tweets, see habuma. For more OSGi-specific tweets, follow me at modularjava.
